We have all heard about how that ‘early bird gets the worm.’
Most successful people you hear about will tell you how they wake up at 5:00 am or so and begin work right away.
There are even books written about this.
I’m here to tell you that it isn’t the only way.
My old job had me waking up at 4:30 am normally so I could get ready and be at work for a 12.5 hour day, 7 days a week.
It was industrial construction, and that was the norm for the industry.
I was terrible at going to bed early and waking up early in the morning.
It didn’t work well for me.
Others were fine with it.
They would go to bed around 9 pm and get a full night’s sleep.
I couldn’t do that though. When I tried, it felt like my life was only work and sleep.
Now that I have left the industry to work on my own online business, I wake up whenever I want.
I experimented with waking up at 5 am again, and that lasted a few days.
That schedule just doesn’t work for me.
I go to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at 7 pm most weeknights.
And I go to the gym 3 days a week at around midnight or 1 am. I do that so the gym isn’t packed with people when I go workout.
So, for now, I’ve settled into going to sleep around 3 to 6 am. But that isn’t set in stone.
I wake up when I wake up. No alarm necessary anymore.
And I am more successful now than I’ve ever been.
Don’t believe the hype that you have to wake up early to be successful.
Some people aren’t morning people.
Now if you work a job then, of course, you have to be there when they pay you to be there.
This gives you even more reason to work toward your own business so you can regain your freedom.
Do what you have to do to make some money but keep an eye on the long-term plan of owning your own business.
Then you can sleep whenever you want and still be successful.
